The frog and the stork
Few people had ever heard of community centre De Ooievaar, which was better known as “the hall in Kokerpark”. For this reason, a stork (“ooievaar” in Dutch) was painted on its façade. And a frog which takes cover as the stork wants to swallow it whole. Wallin’ asked Ghent artist PLUR to create the two murals in Kokerpark.
Plur (Joni Van Nieuwenhuyse) gets his energy from meeting new artists and engaging in collaborations, combined with is love of travelling. His ambition is to create many more murals in Belgium and abroad. To him, the most important thing is the shared process of creating of making the world a more beautiful place, wall by wall.
