Mozaïek Pierkespark
Mosaic artist Scheherazade Bourahli designed a work which not only brought colour to the Brugse Poort neighbourhood, but also actively involved as many local residents and passers-by as possible in the design and layout of the park. In 2010, she gave preparatory workshops and assisted all volunteers in the realisation of this gigantic project.
In 2022, Scheherazade took care of the mosaic’s makeover, together with a few volunteers who had been involved from the very beginning. The work has come to define the neighbourhood’s identity to some extent and fits in with the cultural heritage of Brugse Poort residents with a migration background.
