Have you ever touched a piece of Ghent’s history? Thanks to the new tactile scale model of Prinsenhof you can do just that! The scale model of the former Prinsenhof castle ensures that blind or visually impaired people are also included in this experience of Ghent’s history.
On the occasion of Charles the Fifth’s five-hundredth birthday, a bronze scale model of Prinsenhof was placed on the square. However, in 2011 the model was stolen, and the local residents and visitors of the neighbourhood missed its presence. A.P.I.S. bvba got the task of installing a new version made from synthetic resin to discourage theft. Shape-wise it is identical to the previous model.
