Shosholoza
This impressive mural is located in an alley in the inner city. The artwork has been painted on the rear wall of the building of Familiezorg, an autonomous service for family care and supplementary home care.
Before the creation of the graffiti artwork, this wall was often covered in illegal graffiti.
Since the wall belongs to the Familiezorg building, this organisation wanted to change this situation and protect its image.
Right across from Familiezorg’s back door, there lived a young man who was into graffiti. He created a wonderful mural together with his friends.
The organisation wanted the artwork to have a multicultural subject and mention its name “Familiezorg Oost Vlaanderen”. In return, they paid for the paint and spray cans.
We don’t know the name of this young man and his friends. He no longer lives across from the Familiezorg building.
