Snatching VOORUIT
A magpie collects all sorts of shiny objects … With this metaphor, artist Cigarra Entinta wants to hearten Ghent after the loss of the name ‘Vooruit’ to the Flemish socialist party.
The arts centre formerly known as ‘Vooruit’ is now called Viernulvier, but many people will never forget its former name. Cigarra created this work with the support of the Miramiro street theatre festival.
Cigarra Entinta is a Colombian artist who has studied in Ghent for several years.
