SOLID 9.0, A Squid Called Sebastian & Loves
This work underneath the Krommewal bridge contains three murals by SOLID 9.0, A Squid Called Sebastian and Loves.
Loves in an artist from Dendermonde who has found his way to Ghent. He has an obsession with letters and abstract art. This shows in all his works. It’s not easy to find recognisable things in his art. He loves giving people the opportunity to interpret what they see in his murals.
A Squid Called Sebastian obtained a master's degree in comic strip drawing at Sint Lucas Gent. His style shows recognisable influences from the comic world and the work of figurative masters. He always seeks out a certain dynamism and tension in his work through his use of colours and masks.
SOLID 9.0 is a Ghent artist who developed his art locally in the legally permitted graffiti areas. He paints creatures and faces composed of loose blocks. In doing so, he tries to make optimal use of the dynamic nature of the spray can. With his work he wants to demonstrate that graffiti can be more than vandalism, that it can even be considered art. By working in the public space, he wants to establish direct contact with passers-by.
The founder of Wallin’, SOLID 9.0 is dedicated to promoting and shaping the Ghent street art and graffiti scene. By organising events and the creation of murals, they provide a platform on which artists can show their art in a positive context.
