Squiggly Friends
In the new building of day-care centre De Boekenmolen, toddlers can take their first steps with the help of a few colourful chums: the ‘Squiggly Friends’.
These iconic eyecatchers encourage tiny tots to play with them and each other. They can crawl under, clamber over and climb up the sculptures. In addition to the fixed Squiggles made from lacquered polyester, there is also ‘Little Buddy’, a movable, soft figure located indoors.
The TOYKYO team, a multidisciplinary design studio from Ghent, approaches each assignment from a unique creative perspective, with a fresh outlook and positive energy. The joy of designing is their biggest motivation. They blur the boundaries between graphic design, illustration and set design.
