The teckel in Gent
Every year, Miramiro invites an artist to design the poster for the Ghent Festivities. During these festivities, the artist in question is also asked to create a mural.
Bruges artist Wietse painted his first mural in Ghent during the 2019 Miramiro festival.
In his art, Wietse (Wietse Hindryckx) combines cartoons and realism with influences from history, nature and his ultimate passion: travel. His typical shapes balance between a realistic and a cartoonish style. Black and white are the basic colours of his work. He transforms realistic images into abstract figures with characteristic textures and patterns.
