Wild Horses

The inhabitants of Alphonse De Hollainhof have gotten a couple of new peculiar neighbours thanks to Ghent interior architect Nora De Rudder. The artist’s ‘Wild Horses’ were put in the housing estate’s common green area.

With this artwork, she wants to commemorate the horses that used to be trained in cavalry barracks De Hollain. The herd of horses also symbolises the inhabitants, who live together as a group.

The horses are made of bangkirai wood, which is a reference to the wood used in the buildings designed by architect Willem Jan Neutelings that can be found behind the work of art.
