“You can look, but you can’t touch” is a warning applicable to many artworks, but not to Hans de Pelsmacker’s creation; climb it, clamber over it, look at it, touch it, play on it ... it’s all allowed!
In the passage under the gate of Coyendanspark the Colombian mural artist Jafeth Gomez created, in collaboration with people from the neighbourhood, a southern scene about climate problems and the power of cooperation.
For Drawing Days 2017, STAM – Ghent City Museum organised a competition between the 14 boroughs of Ghent. The challenge was to completely cover a Pol Cosmo insect with original patterns and colours, and subsequently present it at STAM during the Drawing Days festival. The borough with the most drawings won an original work by Pol Cosmo.
The wall along the walking and cycling path had already been provided with a mural made by Steve Locatelli and Eyes B. In 2018, however, the drawing needed to be renewed and Steve was asked to create a new one.
